Baby Sign Language is not simply a fun, social activity for you to do with your baby, it is a dynamic language and communication tool to help your child to communicate their needs to you using gestural, non-verbal strategies, during the preverbal stage of their lives. When a child knows they are ‘heard,’ they experience less frustration and greater trust, they feel more confident and ‘safe,’ but most importantly they feel ‘loved.’
When you combine baby signing with singing, signed stories, music, movement and sensory play, you are giving your child the greatest gift of communication. Evidence has shown that babies who learn to sign also see an acceleration of their language learning and literacy skills.
Sweet Dreams Time courses were created specifically for babies and toddlers to learn about and connect with the world around them, to provide a stimulating and engaging language development system that they can have fun with and that scaffolds their literacy learning skills in the process. They were developed by fully qualified teachers with a range of specialisms, including British Sign Language (BSL), Makaton, languages, SEN and music
Sweet Dreams Time practitioners are committed to providing the highest quality of teaching and learning experiences in line with the EYFS statutory framework. Come and join the fun and watch your child flourish at a Sweet Dreams Time class!
