Massage is one of the most ancient healing arts in the world. You don’t have to have a specific physical problem to have a massage; it is not only beneficial for tired or tense muscles, but also for one’s general state of mind. A massage can be tailored to a person’s specific needs, taking into account their general health and well being, as well as any specific injuries or problems.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage (DTM) focuses on the realignment of the underlying layers of muscles and deep connective tissues. The massage technique is slower but with a firm pressure, concentrating on specific areas of tension or pain, and includes using soft fists, forearms and elbows.
This can help to relieve specific areas of muscular tension and discomfort. Amongst other holistic health benefits, it particularly improves mobility, increases range of motion and loosens tight muscle tissue. By improving blood circulation and increasing drainage to these areas, it can allow the release of toxins and bring nutrients to the affected tissues.

Massage & Acupuncture Combo
This combination is particularly good for sufferers of back or shoulder pain, or for individuals suffering with ingrained muscular issues anywhere in the body. It is also a very good combination to combat migraines or assist those suffering with anxiety or emotional turbulence. Within the treatment, moxa (dried mugwort) which is a Chinese herb may be used. The moxa is applied to the end of acupuncture needles or used in a stick and is burnt to send heat into the body to further relieve symptoms. It may also be necessary for the client to receive Chinese cupping which also directs localised heat to the affected region.

Deborah is also a fully qualified ITEC massage therapist, and holds certificates in Swedish and Deep Tissue massage as well as Pregnancy massage. Whilst able to alleviate successfully many muscular conditions through massage alone, where appropriate, she also combines massage with acupuncture to achieve the best results.
Deborah has a special interest is the relationship between the mind and body (holism) and particularly where cases of anxiety and depression manifest with musculoskeletal problems e.g. tight shoulders or neck. She has received feedback from a number of clients who have suffered with these conditions that the combination of acupuncture and massage penetrates and releases the body to a much deeper level than either one of these therapies alone.

Sound Massage with Aromatherapy
This meditative treatment makes each cell of our body vibrate and the whole system remember, how to be well! It gives the mind, the body and the spirit opportunity to travel to find healing, wisdom, ideas, answers, bliss, connection, beauty and to meet our higher self.
Since the sounds appeal to a person’s original trust it allows for fast achievement of deep relaxation.
The most important effects of Sound Massage is a gentle massage and harmonization of each individual body cell through sound, relief of tensions and blockages in the body and mind, positive influence on self-confidence, creativity and productive energy, spiritual exploration and revival. Sound Healing helps us to experience the body feeling pleasantly light and vibrating freely.
The specialist singing bowls used in the session were designed and developed by the Peter Hess Institute, specifically as healing tools. Each bowl is precisely tuned to vibrate at the exact frequency corresponding to the natural frequency of a healthy bodily organ. Through resonance, this literally tunes, harmonies and restores the body’s natural, healthy state of being.
To enhance, expand and deepen the benefits of this treatment, we work with the application of personalised highly vibrational Essential Oils and Aura Sprays, which assist in transformation, meditation, healing. They have benefiacial effects on aligning the physical, emotional and energetical body, inviting alignment and delight.
Sound Massage is based on ancient knowledge concerning the effect of sounds that was applied in Indian healing therapy as long as more than 5000 years ago. According to Eastern ideas man was created out of sound, i.e. he is sound. If a human being is “in tune” with himself and his environment, then he or she is able to arrange his/her life freely and creatively.

“I’ve been going to Agata’s sound bath sessions for about a year and I am always amazed by the effect sound has on us. I was lucky enough to experience a private sound healing session with Agata. I knew it will be a very special treatment but the experience was simply out of this world. As soon as the treatment started I felt very relaxed and reached a very peaceful meditative state. After the treatment I felt completely balanced in my mind and body. My energy level and productivity has increased and stayed with me for a long time. It feels like after the treatment I was my best self.”

Sports and Remedial Massage
Sports and remedial massage is a deeper massage which aims to help athletes prepare and recover better from hard exercise or competition. It also incorporates more advanced techniques to help improve the recovery of common sports related injuries.
Pre-event: In the final build-up to a competition this requires good thorough massage which will identify and treat any areas of adverse tension.
Post- event: The main focus is recovery and massage should be given as soon as possible using gentle flowing techniques.
Many non-sports people also enjoy this deeper massage because it can help relieve minor aches and pains.

Zena McGee is an experienced massage therapist with a level 5 diploma in Sports and Remedial soft tissue therapy, awarded from the Institute for Soft Tissue Therapists (ISRM). She is also in her final year of Osteopathy training at the British School of Osteopathy.

“I run regularly and strained my hamstring recently. Zena knows what she is doing and gave a very robust massage to my back, shoulders and legs. My shoulders were a bit achy at first as the massage was so deep, but it has worked to release long standing knots and I can feel much of the tightness has gone. My legs feel looser too. I will be back!”

Thai Yoga Massage
Thai yoga massage (TYM) is an ancient healing art from the Buddhist tradition. It is a clever combination of targeted acupressure; finding and dissolving knots and blockages, stimulating energy lines, toning the muscles and tendons and opening the joints with gentle Hatha yoga-like stretches. The aim of TYM is to restore balance to the body’s energy system and harness the process of self-healing and renewal.
Thai yoga massage is not just a physical therapy but has a spiritual healing dimension. By encouraging deep relaxation, it restores the mind and body to harmonious balance and peace.
Thai Yoga Massage encourages us to slow down and settle into our bodies. It can –
* improve flexibility
* dissolve aches and pain
* increase energy levels
* correct posture and alignment
* stimulate blood flow and circulation
* aid breathing and relaxation
* promote sleep
* restore well-being
What happens in a massage session?
Using thumbs, hands, feet, elbows, forearms and knees, the practitioner releases tension and dissolves blockages that lead to pain, dysfunction and disease. Thai Yoga Massage is done fully clothed, wearing loose garments. The massage takes place on a firm massage futon on the floor. Traditionally there is no use of oils.
TYM is like having a yoga class done to you. The massage is playful and fun as well as relaxing. It can be adapted and tailored to your individual body’s range and needs. It is safe and can be used on every kind of patient, regardless of age and flexibility.
