Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive, holistic therapy. It is based on the principle that there are reflex areas on the feet and hands which correspond to all the organs, glands, and parts of the body.
Reflexology uses a unique combination of finger and thumb pressure applied to these reflex points to promote positive physiological changes in the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help with many health problems in a natural way.
A reflexology treatment is tailored to each individual client and seeks to restore balance, improve circulation and blood supply to the body, encourage relaxation and invigorate the health of the client.
Reflexology may help with a wide variety of health problems, including fertility, hormonal imbalances, anxiety, stress and depression, sleep disorders and shoulder, back and neck pain.
Maternity Reflexology is a specialist area of reflexology that treats couples for fertility, women in pregnancy and women in the post-natal period. It is an area of reflexology which has grown in popularity as it offers a natural way to support clients when planning a family.
Maternity reflexology aims to relieve tension, anxiety and stress associated with subfertility, pregnancy and post-natal, and works on specific conditions associated with these different areas.
A chance meeting, the seed of an idea and a life change led me to to the therapy I remain fascinated and inspired by today following over a decade working as a magazine beauty and well-being journalist/editor. I hold a level three reflexology diploma and regularly update my skills, which allows me to use a variety of approaches in my treatments.
I have completed the following continuing professionl development courses;
