An Introductory or refresher course suitable for all levels of experience Cost: £100

In this course we will be exploring some of the main forms of meditation taken from the Buddhist tradition. We’ll be practising techniques that can help us lead happier more fulfilled lives and seeing how they can open us up to understanding ourselves and our world.

Coming home to the body. Focussing on mindfulness practice we will be seeing how to ground our experience of meditation in the momentary physical sensations of our bodies, developing calm and clarity and starting to draw on the body’s natural capacity for healing and wisdom.

Opening the heart. Working with the meditation of loving-kindness, we will learn to bring kindly awareness into our emotional lives, releasing tensions, opening our hearts and discovering our deep capacity for love and compassion.

Exploring awareness. Working with the practice of mindfulness meditation we will start to explore the natural qualities of the mind: the openness, clarity and sensitivity that make up the mysterious nature of awareness itself.

Working with obstaclesWe’ll be looking at the most common obstacles to meditation and learning creative ways to work with the habitual negative patterns of mind that prevent us from being fully present to our experience. We’ll be looking at how to set up a regular meditation practice and learning how to integrate the principles we are learning into our daily lives.


Gill Hickman – Meditation for Health & Wellbeing

Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:00pm

In this weekly “hour of gentle self care” Gill shares simple exercises & meditation / visualisation techniques that can help release tension from your body and mind and create a sense of inner peace and wellbeing.

These classes are suitable if you are facing specific health issues or just wanting to support your general health & well-being. No previous experience of meditation is required.
